For nearly a century, the Savage Volunteer Fire Company has proudly served the residents of Savage and surrounding communities with dedication, courage, and community pride. Established in 1937 as Howard County’s Sixth Fire District, the company has grown alongside the historic town of Savage while maintaining its strong volunteer tradition and commitment to public service.
Today, that same spirit of community continues through our beautiful banquet and social hall — a welcoming venue where neighbors, families, businesses, and organizations come together to celebrate life’s special moments. Located at 8521 Corridor Road in Savage, Maryland, just minutes from Historic Savage Mill and Route 1, our hall blends modern convenience with the rich heritage of one of Howard County’s most historic volunteer fire companies.

A Legacy Built On Service

The Savage Volunteer Fire Company began with humble roots on Savage-Guilford Road in 1938. That same year, Savage volunteers placed the first ambulance into service in Howard County — a milestone that helped shape emergency medical services in the region. Over the decades, the department expanded alongside the growing community, continuing to answer thousands of emergency calls each year while preserving the close-knit volunteer culture that defines Savage.

The company’s long history reflects the story of Savage itself — a town known for its historic mill community, strong local traditions, and enduring sense of pride. Generations of residents have gathered through the years at fire company events, community celebrations, fundraisers, holiday gatherings, and social occasions
